Glow at home with our DIY treatment

Boost your cleanse

Want to feel like you’re having a professional skin treatment? Fill a large bowl with hot water and soak around 3 small towels inside until warm. Cleanse your skin with Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash to thoroughly remove excess oil and clear follicles with the added benefit of Salicylic Acid. Once cleansed, remove the product using one of the damp, warm towels, patting the towel gently onto the face to open pores and prep the skin for products like serums, masks and moisturisers

Get Steamy

In addition to drawing unwanted nasties like dirt and excess oil from pores, facial steam just feels amazing! And is an easy way of incorporating something new into your at-home treatment. Heat some water over the stove and add it to a bowl with some green tea bags or lemon slices. After letting it sit for a few minutes (make sure the water isn’t too hot!), drape a towel over your head and the bowl so the steam can’t escape. Stay put for a few minutes then pat face dry.

Tweeze

Now is the perfect time to get rid of any pesky hairs, after you have steamed your skin, your pores are open which makes hair removal a lot easier and less painfule.

Exfoliate

It’s time to get rid of those dead skin cells that are giving you that dull, tired complexion and scrub up to reveal glowing, smooth skin! If you have breakouts, make sure you opt for a chemical exfoliant that won’t aggravate your breakouts, many exfoliants that are scratchy may make you skin feel good afterwards but will give you more issues in the long run and exacerbate breakouts. When exfoliating, concentrate on your problem areas like chin, nose and forehead, don’t forget your neck! And remember to be gentle with your skin, remove the exfoliant thoroughly with one of the warm towels.

Multi-Mask

Use a combination of masks on different areas that need different attention! For example, try Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask on the nose and chin to help clear away excess oils and facilitate in blackhead removal and something hydrating like a gel mask on the cheeks, neck and decollate. Leave on for 5-10 minutes while you relax with some refreshing cucumber on your eyes then thoroughly remove with the final warm towel.

Tone

Toner is like a setting spray and primer for your skincare routine, it thoroughly saturates the skin and makes sure all your hard work after cleansing and exfoliating doesn’t go to waste. Spritz toner after you remove your mask to lock in hydration and prep the skin for your moisturiser. Pro tip: Get breakouts on the chest and/or back? Spray all Over Toner on areas of the body that are hard to reach to control oils and refresh the skin.

Serum

Depending on your skincare routine, will depend on whether you use a serum or not. Breakout Clearing Booster can be used under your moisturiser to specifically treat pesky breakouts. Apply by popping a small amount on your finger and dabbing onto pimples

Moisturise
If you have an oily skin, putting your skin through steps like cleansing and exfoliating can cause a loss in moisture. Although moisturising may seem counter-productive when you have an oily skin, trust me you still need it! Pop on some moisturiser to finish your at-home treatment in upwards smooth strokes and don’t forget SPF if you’re going to be heading outdoors today!
